Churches Open or Close
St Peter’s Church of England
Church Lane, Brimpton RG7 4TJ
Rector: Rev. Jane Manley
Tel: 0118 971 2281
Website: www.awb.org.ukSt Peter’s Brimpton sits at the top of the hill in the centre of the village. The village War Memorial marks the start of the gravel track that leads to the church and the footpath that starts in church car park is popular with walkers. It is believed that there has been a church on the site since Norman times. The current building dates from 1868.
We are a friendly church and you will receive a warm welcome. We have a carpeted area with child sized furniture and books, drawing equipment and babies’ toys which parents and children can make use of during any service.
Our services generally follow a regular pattern with two services a month: the first Sunday of the month is 9.15 am Holy Communion; the third Sunday of the month is 10,.45 am Morning Worship- a service of about 45 minutes. Both services are followed by refreshments.
The church is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm and offers a place for private prayer and reflection. There is a prayer request book at the back of the church.
Brimpton Baptist Church
Brimpton Road, Brimpton RG7 4SP
Tel: 0118 971 2059A group of believers following the baptist teachings began meeting in the Corn Mill sometime around 1829. They eventually secured a small plot from a local farmer and by 1843 the current building was completed. Apart from a short time in the late 1840′s the church has been continuously open as a place of worship for Brimpton and nearby communities.
We continue today very much as the church did when it first opened over 170 years ago. We enjoy a family friendly atmosphere and encourage old and young to worship together.
Three simple words summarise what we do: Faith, Family and Friendship.
